ABOUT ‘SAFETY THROUGH SPIRITUAL LIFE SKILLS’ INITIATIVE

‘Safety through Spiritual Life Skills’ is the on-going project initiative dedicated to the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011–2020 (DARS).This project is designed to align with the fourth pillar – ‘Safer Road Users’ of the Global Plan for DARS. The overall aim of this project is to reduce the incidence of road accidents by inspiring and educating individuals to practice safe road behavior.

The Specific Objectives include:

  • To create awareness amongst multiple stakeholders about road safety and their role in making roads safer.
  • To popularize practical meditation as a means to enhance Mental stability and concentration while travelling / driving.
  • To promote a culture of driving with dignity, courtesy and adherence to rules and de-glamorize speed and disobedience of rules.
  • We are all aware that a mind disturbed by thoughts and emotions of fear, worry, anger and such tendencies heavily impacts concentration, presence of mind and thus delays reflexes and responses. This jeopardizes life in a heavily mechanized environment today. Spiritual life skills help individuals get a grip of their inner world and effectively steer their thoughts, emotions, attitudes and actions to bring benefit and safety to the self and others.
  • The ‘human’ element underpins almost all contributors to road collisions. The cumulative effect of change in ‘human’ perspectives and behavioural patterns, across various stakeholders, is believed to contribute to better road management systems, safer road users and safer roads. Human nature is adaptable; road accidents are preventable.

Safety Tools & Spirituality Rules

Speed without strain: Work pressure, targets, deadlines and stress are accepted as an integral part of professional life today. However, if not understood and dealt with appropriately, it drains away our physical and mental energy and poses a threat to our overall well-being. So, learn how to relax through simple and effective techniques. The lighter you are, the faster you move…

Safety through Spirituality: Safety is actually a non-negotiable value. However, in current times we witness that the drive for material profits and thrills overrides safety concerns. Despite extensive efforts towards building safe roads, safe vehicles and enforcing safety rules, hazards cannot be controlled until the human mind is convinced of the priority of safety. This session helps the participants understand the immense value of safety, the value of oneself and of others as well as the bliss of a balanced life.

Journey with Harmony: Being a part of the transport and travel industry means connecting with innumerable and all kinds of people. Hence, harmonious relationships with co-workers, customers and very importantly with oneself, becomes an integral aspect of one’s happiness and success. This session helps in enriching relationships for a smooth life journey.
